To transfer shares into your Bell Direct account, you’ll first need to determine where your shares are currently held and then submit the relevant transfer form to our support team.
Your shares will be held either with another broker or directly with a share registry. An easy way to tell is via a holding statement, where you’ll be able to find your unique identification number – if this begins with an ‘I’ your shares are held with a registry, while if it begins with an ‘X’ your shares are held with a broker.
Once you have determined where your shares are held, you can download the required form via your Bell Direct account. Log in and navigate to My Account > Forms.
If your shares are held with a share registry, you’ll need to submit the Issuer Sponsored Conversion request form. If they are held with a broker, you’ll need to submit the Broker-to-Broker transfer form.
For both forms, your personal details on the form must exactly match your details with Bell Direct. Once completed, this can be emailed to support@belldirect.com.au, or posted to GPO Box 1630, Sydney NSW 2001.
If the shares are held in a different name to your Bell Direct account, for instance moving from a company to an individual account, you’ll need to submit an Off Market Transfer form instead. Please note this will incur a standard fee of $55 per holding.
If you need any assistance with any stage of the transfer process, please reach out to our support team.
